New PB Single AND Ao12!

It’s been a good week. I’ve been maintaining a friendly “Racing to sub 20” thread over at speedsolving.com for a while now. Anyone is welcome to participate. It’s just a fun way to watch your progress with a community of awesome people like you! If you want to check out the thread, or even participate, you can find it here.

This week is round 484, and it was my best round yet. I had one outrageous solve with a lucky PLL skip that clocked in at 13.33 seconds, beating my previous personal best by more than 1 second. I also logged a couple of 15 second solves in the average, finishing my ao12 with a 19.37 second average. This is only the second time I’ve clocked a sub 20 average in this competition, and only maybe the 5th time I’ve ever done it.

If you’re curious here’s the scramble for that crazy 13.33 second solve. Give it a go and see how you do.

I haven’t learned any new algorithms in the last 6 months or so. I’ve just been casually solving and slowly improving. Though now that I’m beginning to break down the 20 second barrier more and more often, I’m feeling the motivation to practice and learn more. Sub 20 isn’t a pipe dream anymore, I’m almost there!
